I did some modifications on a homebrew to enhance the usability and stuff, but since I didn't do any major code changes, I don't know if it would be allowed to make a topic for that here. Asking just in case. MIT License basically means I can do anything I want with the code right?

MIT is pretty permissive so that is likely not a problem, though even GPL if you release the source does not restrict much.
"to enhance the usability and stuff" is quite broad but the bar is not very high. If it is was more that you looked at the ROM hacking sections and saw the restrictions on pokemon hacks it is more that without those then we see dozens of "I changed the title screen and starter pokemon with a tool" hacks and they clog up the sections. If it is was more that you looked at the user news section and saw the guidelines there then that is front page news and not a thread to showcase your homebrew fork.
If it is some basic "run it once per hacked system" type thing then if usability includes a nice false button press detector for something that just reads data then I can't imagine people will care so much. If it is something people will use more than once, especially UIs for emulators and the like, then carry on.
Short version. Carry on.

Well i basically added a bit of text to it and changed the file it loads from. Also i made a readme that is easier to read (in my opinion) and made a release that has a bit more files than the original release (wiiu/apps/app/ folder with .elf,.xml,.png optionally also with .txt). Sorry for asking that way but I just wanna make sure it's ok because i am new to this stuff and so on... also i'm not sure whether i should ask the creator of the original app to include my changes.
If you fundamentally change the nature of an application the original dev might not accept the pull request (assuming we are using GIT for this one) but for what sounds like an incremental improvement you might well have some luck.
Failing that this is homebrew so we are used to having loads of forks around the place.

Make a pull request if you think it's worth including in the official release. It might not get accepted but it's worth a shot.
Maybe post your version in the thread dedicated to the homebrew, if it has one. Not much point in making a new thread unless it has major changes.
I mean I am not changing its nature and I already made a pull request, so there might be a chance that it gets added. I'm gonna wait a bit and look if something happens if not I'm gonna post it in the thread of the original homebrew. Thank you both for answering.
