Hardware Can i charge my switch with the xiaomi 18w charger?

Better save use a OEM charger or just a standard USB. Or maybe match the watts from the OEM charger to an aftermarket.

Same thing applies to docks because if you use a bad dock you could fry your switch. Once again it shouldn't be that way

I use my Samsung "super quick charger"(I think it was around 45w) sometimes, no sweat

but it's faster when you use the original cable

There is no risk of brick or whatsoever. If you use a a PD charger you will be able to charge and play at same time, if your charger isn't PD compliant you can play but the battery get no charge or if is on standby will charge very slooooooow

You could be confused about a problem on the 2018 or 2017 about some bad docks bricking the switch after a firmware update, but that is about the switch trying to update the docking firmware and someting went bad. Today there is no chance of that.
