It is still relevant you just need a host for a .com instead of using the free ones.Theiket said:Yes, but I want a website with .com on the end, not a subdomain.

Direct quote from said topic:
QUOTEQ - How do I get my own www.whatever.com address?
A - You buy it. An address like that is known as a TLD, "Top-Level Domain". It is a worldwide registration and it costs money, you can usually find a domain name for about $15 or less a year (they're leased out on yearly cycles). While there are some ways to get a free TLD suhk as a .tk, they generally suck for more reasons than I care to list, and they WILL often pull the domain name from your control and re-sell it as soon as it gets popular so they can make money off of you, if you read the fine print.
Theiket said:Ok. Well, can anyone suggest any .com domain providers and hosters?
a video game? if so then you should have at least some form of computer knowledge and this should be the least of your worries... if you are having trouble getting a website published by he hundreds of website providers then i have very low expectations for your game..... sorryTheiket said:I need to set up a website for the game me and some friends are

I went with HostGator, partially because of their support (I've used their support to report various things when i wasn't a customer and they were responsive as legally allowed) and because they offered a good deal if I bought a lot of hosting at once, so I went with three years. XD
I actually meant using PHP and MySQL. That's what most of the website hosters use. We know how to set one up though. I have a friend making one in a few days for us, so we'll be good.Demonstryde said:a video game? if so then you should have at least some form of computer knowledge and this should be the least of your worries... if you are having trouble getting a website published by he hundreds of website providers then i have very low expectations for your game..... sorryTheiket said:I need to set up a website for the game me and some friends are
