I turned on my Wii U about a year ago and it was just fine.

Everything will die eventually.

You can do a nand dump to force the eMMC to read everything and therefore run the ECC code on everything, if you are concerned about the data retention.

Is there any issue when you use your Wii U today? If not it's probably all fine.
