I believe N3DSes are limited to 9.5 emuNAND, so it's most likely the XL will be limited as well.

Yup, up to 9.5. There's some screencaps running over the net of a 10.3 cfw running on sysnand in a N3dsXL, but for now it's sysupdater to 9.5 on emunand the way to go. I mean, there's not much new on 9.5 but it's cutting edge.

Do you still have kernel access and are you able to install .cia files when upgrading your emuNAND to 9.5?
