Can't make Pokemon Emerald .sav file to work on VBA

Hey, here's the thing, I started using mGBA instead of VBA because of a visual glitch on my friend's PC that the graphics were... acting weird (like pokemon animations, water reflections...) but when I came back home and tried loading/importing with battery save file on VBA-m, it says it loaded it, but... it doesn't(?)
here's the save file as well, i'm a bit worried of losing this file, cuz I've already progressed too far in game

mGBA and VBA saves are completely different.

No way to make them compatible as far as I know.

The save file is created by the game. Why would it be completley different?

Just remove the last 16 bytes of the mGBA save file and it should work with VBA

How do I do that or how can I search for that? Sorry, Im pretty newbie on this kind of things

I believe the save format is wrong, also the size is off by 1 kb.

Here I converted the save, it run on vba.

I used this to convert the save.

You have to rename it to .sav after converting.

Download a Hex Editor like HxD. Open the file with it and scroll to the very bottom and remove the last 16 bytes and save.

Seems to be a bug in 2.1.5. Either use version 2.1.4 or use the latest nightly (https://nightly.vba-m.com/).
