Hello, today I decided to try playing Splatoon and MK8 online on cemu. however it keeps giving me this error, I looked it up and it said there was a required system update? if this is the case how would I install this on cemu?

Bro i have the same problem in a real Wii U
For my Wii U, I had to install 5.5.6U (an update only for American systems)
Apparently I'm not the only one having this issue, I'll try to downgrade the Cemu version and see if it works
Any update on how it went? I also tried force installing the update with JNUSTool (Installing Version number, Wii U menu, and sys settings app) and got nothing

I tried using the version 1.26.2 which the online was working, but I started having the 106.0502 error, but I Checked the log and there wasn't anything about banned account or something.. I just found a video posted 1 hour ago of a guy playing Splatoon online on Cemu 1.25.6, I'll try to get this build and see if It works

I have some updates about the online issues
apparently it's related a new firmware version of Wii U which is blocking non Wii U (emulator) to play online, but it seems it only occurs on specific regions, apparently it's working on EU consoles and accounts
I think all we can do atm is wait for updates that fixes this issue for us so we can play online again

You think they’ll actually fix it?

Hi, guys I tested Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon, using CEMU latest stable version 1.26.2f, wii u software version 5.5.5E europe console and using tiramisu homebrew.

Dumped my online files through dumplingapp and also dumped my friends list application too.

Error code 106.0502 is maintenance related, means you were trying to play mario kart 8 or splatoon when the server just finished maintenance and just need to try play online again later : https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/7913/~/error-code:-106-0502,

This error code may appear if maintenance for online services have ended, but the game was not restarted after maintenance had occurred. Prior to troubleshooting, exit the game and return the HOME Menu and then start the game again.

Error code 102-2511 means you need to update to the latest software version(5.5.6 for USA NTSC consoles) to play online: this is what it will show on actual Wii U hardware Error Code: 102-2511 "In order to use online services, a system update is required. Go to System Settings to perform a system update. I'm not sure as I'm using europe PAL console so I can't check sorry.

I think for USA NTSC consoles, you have to disable autoboot, update via wii u system settings and then re-enable autoboot again. Disable autoboot: https://wiiu.hacks.guide/#/unblock-updates

Once you update your USA NTSC console to 5.5.6, then use dumpling app to dump online files for CEMU. Then try it again. and I don't think going back to older versions of CEMU will fix the issue as the issue is a software update 5.5.6 for USA NTSC consoles and it means you need to update to 5.5.6 to play online.

Tl:dr: Basically disable autoboot > update to 5.5.6 > re-enable autoboot > use dumpling app to dump CEMU online files. Once you dump your CEMU online files via dumplingapp: https://cemu.cfw.guide/online-play.html#requirements

I'm just a noob btw and if im wrong then please correct me and test if it works or not.

I see.
still, even updating the console and dumping the files again, it's not working on the emulator
apparently it's related the new firmware update is blocking non Wii Us (emulator) to play online

I know why it might not be updating as I fixed it on the real wii u
Bro i have the same problem in a real Wii U
I uninstalled payloader on accident until I realized it. I can reinstall it
You'll need to disable Tiramisu from Autobooting, then it will let you update.
When Tiramisu is running it auto blocks updates. To be safe to keep it enabled if a new update comes out.

1- Turn on console hold x
2- Environment Loader will load in click install, press A to check, select Boot options.
3- Click A (Switch back to Wii U Menu)
4- Press A to restart system then update the console.
*To re-enable the Tiramisu so it can autoboot as you'll probably need it on
1- Do the same steps again, but on step 3 It will say Switch to PayloadLoader (click A)
2- Press A to restart system and your good to go.

yea its fine on every other system besides American ones, if only I didn't buy one when I was in the states and bought one in Europe instead. even then I tried forcing the update to install and it wouldn't work sadly (had to remove links in reply because gbatemp can be dumb sometimes)

For a kids aspect Anbernic would be the better option they'd probably melt over the price on a good 4k display

For that texasroo guy, I'd recommend the Spell and speak as his first system.

So they buy a pi5 kit for about $150 and say a 28" 4k display probably looking around $400 total
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They'll be getting in the territory of portable Pcs anyway

Again you get what you pay for, its like buying a S series for $300 but its only 1440p native, if you want true 4k, gotta get the X model for $500. But yea you right, when moms buying it anyways, you gotta stay cheap.

They could use HD out on their TV no real need for a monitor these days tbh the purists will disagree

I'm kind of phasing out on the need for wanting all these consoles cool to have but they just become dust build ups

I here ya there, I have too many myself, and have hard time letting them go, since most of mine I've modded at some point. Anymore I just play Switch on the go, seriesx at home.

I'm designing my own entertainment cabinet for my man cave, to store all my systems, then I'm also designing a power supply/HDMI switcher so I can switch to whichever system I want, and power it also. Already picked up the cabinet board, but tinkering with my drawings before start
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
But yea, I have frogger arcade cabinet that I gutted and put a Pi4 then Pi5 into, but it never gets played much anymore, should sell it. Even when the kids come over, they don't want to play on it, just the xbox. TMNT and Simpson's arcade is still so fun on it, esp w 2 players.
