Choice of 2 laptops...

I know I made a topic a while ago that said that a family friend is giving me a laptop since I helped him with computer problem. Now he decides to spring on a, "I'll let you have a laptop for free between these two". So... which is better?

An Acer Aspire 1300 with AMD Athlon XP 1500+
or
A Compaq 610c with Pentium 4?

With the two facts I would say the Compaq

Don't know how fast they both are. Both have 256mb RAM. Acer has a CD-rewriter built in. Compaq doesn't. Compaq has 30gb hard drive, Acer only has 20.

Listen, I'm typing with my Aspire right now... Yeah the Acer one.
I got one of the best Aspires in the market.
It has good parts, and the specs say it's good.
But it works like shit. I've had alot of acers before.
They were all aspires.
They all had issues.
I can't even play Club Penguin with my aspire 5536G .
Never get an acer.

The uncle of one of my friends is in charge of Acer in Thailand and the UK...my friend told him that they were a piece of crap, and his uncle shrugged and said that he didn't care, they were quite cheap
