cIOS stuck at cIOS 58

Hey all.

So my wii is modded correctly, and my cIOS's are as they should. I want my current IOS to be slot 249, which has all required adjustments made to it, (ios249, base 56, rev65535) and it installs fine on the d2x installer. but when i load into wiimod lite and change my current ios to slot 249, it doesnt stay that way. if i load back into wiimod or d2x then my current ios goes back to slot 58. this issue is causing certain games in usb loader gx to boot me back to the system menu or the homebrew channel. i say certain games because super paper mario works just fine, but wii sports resorts boots me back to the menu. it could all be fixed if i could change my ios. any help is much appreciated.
