Create an original Pandora kit and downgrade to 1.50
Downgrade a PSP-1000 to 1.50
Why this guide?Because going so low from modern CFW is far from obvious: version.txt spoofing to 1.00 then "updating" won't work due to incompatibilities; Hellcat's Recovery Flasher also fails to extract and flash it, despite having a dedicated feature; the original Pandora PC tools, if you can find them anymore at all, don't really work on Windows 7 and newer...
Why 1.50?
Because It's Possible, maybe you want to relive the "good old days", or to scalp it on ebay: "ignorant collector's tax"!
Needed things
- PSP 01g (1000 series, phat) with CFW, LCFW, or HEN
- 4 GB or under memory stick (microSD converters OK)
- Rain's PSP Tool: https://gbatemp.net/download/psp-tool-1-00.36089/
- 1.50 updater: https://darthsternie.net/index.php/psp-firmwares/
What to do?
Well, if you are sufficiently familiar with operating a PSP, once you have those files it's mostly intuitive... except maybe for the first step
- Insert a formatted Memory Stick, equal or lower to 4 GB
- Copy the firmware to the root of the Memory Stick, renamed to UPDATE.PBP
- Copy the homebrew to /PSP/GAME/PSP Tool/EBOOT.PBP
- Run PSP Tool, select "Memory Stick Tools", "Create Magic Memory Stick", "1.50 update flasher (Original Pandora)"
- Press the back button to close the credits, wait for the files to extract, install the Time Machine CIPL to the memory stick and assign it to the button of your choice, and flash your battery's serial number to FFFFFFFF (known as Pandora or Jigkick)
- Remove all power sources, hold the button(s) you configured, insert the battery, and follow the highly complicated instructions
- Factory reset your console from Settings>System
- That's it!
