[Debunked] Silent Hills May Now Be An Xbox One Exclusive

silent-hills-logo.jpg
The Drama just never stops coming does it people? From complete and utter takedown on the playstation, to the cancellation of the entire game, and now... as rumor has it... Silent Hills may be in talks to being bought from Konami, by microsoft, COMPLETELY taking the game from Playstation and making it an Xbox One exclusive.
[prebreak][/prebreak]
All I can say is...
wat.
According to Rooster Teeth's source, Silent Hills is 80% complete, and Microsoft is trying to purchase the property for "billions" of dollars by E3 this year – where it will officially reveal the game as an Xbox One exclusive. It could reportedly be released as soon as March 2016.
Konami pulled the PT demo for Silent Hills from the PlayStation Store "as a show of good faith to Microsoft," Rooster Teeth said.

In December 2014, Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus, who was supposed to play a major role in the game, said the "heavy" motion capture for Silent Hillshadn't been shot yet.

The fact that the source is... Rooster Teeth of all places is an odd one. Take this with a frain of salt, but keep your eye on this topic, and E3 in the coming weeks. Silent Hills may still be alive and kicking after all...

gg another baseless rumour confirmed false that made its way into the news section.
Really need a "no rumours in USN" rule.

Especially incredibly obvious ones that a 4 year old could figure out was fake. Microsoft spending "billions" to secure a title that'll make them maybe 400mill assuming they move 6 million copies at full retail price.
It wasn't even in USN... It was posted by mag staff. Shame on you @chavosaur. :P

Er, well I meant both sections. This one especially is supposed to have some semblance of quality, especially considering it pops onto the front page.

but stay tuned for Chavs next news article, where I post a vague tweet about how a congregation of monkeys have decided to pick up Silent Hills and will be releasing it for ouya.

Well, the part about Microsoft buying Silent Hills sounded very likely even if some of the details were a bit off. For all we know the billions was an exaggeration or they planned to profit from sequels
A rumor doesn't have to be 100% accurate or 100% false

They're still basically useless. If someone wants to post a crap thread about a rumour, GDC is a better spot. Leave the USN and front page Scene News for real news. Especially Scene News because it IS on the front page (if anyone actually checks that anymore), USN is for amateur hour rumours like this.

It doesn't really matter overall, I just like the news sections being tidy.

Sony "showing good faith to Microsoft" is utter nonsense, their entire PS4 E3 2013 presentation was an improvised attack on Xbox One, improvised because they decided last second to throw out their speech that actually said anything about the PS4 because it included the same shortcomings they were attacking MS for.
They only took it down so they don't advertise Microsoft's game.

Sony didn't take down the PT demo as a show of good faith, Konami did. Read before hitting reply. ;)

Maybe, but Sony would indeed be that petty; so it's not entirely out of the question to believe such if you know how they operate.
The only reason sony takes stuff entirely from servers is because of an exploit to hack the console. Other than that they at least let you redownload your stuff, which you can't because Konami wanted to delete PT entirely.

Even if it's been denied on Twitter I'm still not ruling it out. After all, it was denied on Twitter.
