DeSantis pronouncing his surname differently is causing "confusion"

I'm no fan of DeSantis, but it's so petty and childish people are picking on him because he pronounces his surname differently.



DeSantis is a Latin European / Italian name so it's no surprise there's more than one way of the name being pronounced. For example, Gonçalves can be pronounced in English as Gon-sal-ves or Gon-zal-ves.

Easier to just call him meatball Ron. The point they make about him always looking uncomfortable is a more interesting one though: he's stuck playing this Trump-esque character role because he knows his actual personality is a total turn off to Republican voters. Must be like wearing an Easter bunny costume in hundred degree weather.

Yeah, it's not like he did something really unspeakable, like wear a tan suit or something like that.

Yes but most people settle on just one when it's their name. Is he still finding himself at his age? Did he flip-flop with the pronunciation before? I will be charitable and say he is not senile, he is changing the pronunciation to endear himself to the current audience, "ich bin ein Krapfen" style.
