Detective Pikachu releasing worldwide in March, alongside large amiibo

Two years ago, the ever-so-odd Detective Pikachu released in Japan. Despite popularity, and even a movie being in the works, there was never any mention of a localization until a ratings board leak back in December. As of today, Nintendo has announced that they'll be bringing Detective Pikachu to western audiences, along with giving the game a second episode, and a large amiibo.

The second episode of Detective Pikachu will release in March, for both Japan and North America/Europe. Coinciding with the release will be an amiibo of the hat-wearing Pikachu, which is quite noticeably larger than its Smash Bros. amiibo counterpart.

A special Pikachu and his friend Tim uncover the mysteries of Ryme City in Detective Pikachu for systems in the Nintendo 3DS family. This Pikachu is unlike any other—the gruff Pokémon talks tough, loves strong coffee, and boasts about his brilliance as a wannabe great detective. Side by side, Tim and Pikachu will search for clues and talk to witnesses to investigate the disappearance of Tim’s father, Harry.

You’re sure to encounter plenty of other interesting characters as you explore the big city, including Brad McMaster, a police lieutenant; and Mike Baker, a man who used to work with Harry. Plus there are countless Pokémon to meet, and that’s where this Pikachu’s talents really shine—he can communicate with other Pokémon—and with Tim, too. Look forward to plenty of other fascinating people in Ryme City...but it’s up to you to figure out who to trust!

Also, on Jan. 26, an adorable New Nintendo 2DS XL system featuring Pikachu’s iconic face launches in stores at a suggested retail price of $159.99:

I seen a title and thumbnail of a video, wasn't expecting it to be that big. lol
Honestly, maybe they should have been that big in the first place. Can't wait for life size Amiibos.

Good to see that the game is finally coming over.

....why is the amiibo big compared to the others?

First a cereal box and now this? I think someone high up @ Nintendo is just bored.

Anyways I never looked much into this games so hope we have a min direct on it and they show it off.

Already play the japanese version whe come out two years ago. Is fun but for me was nothing special, but if you want a fun adventure in the Pokemon world as a detective give it a try.
Since all the time they take for prot this out side Japan i was almost thinking that it will it the Switch, along side the second episode, but apperently we will have some other 3DS title form the pokemon series before completly move on to the switch.

they need to have a strong line up on the launch titles too. I think they should move metroid prime 4 to the next console because by now it has been quite a while and there's no release date scheduled yet

well as far as metroid prime 4 is concerned, the next system probably is similar enough to the current gen they can probably easily just slap it onto a next gen cart and call it good :P
