I’d like to upgrade my SD2Vita storage from 32GB to 128GB and switch from StorageMgr to YAMT. I had some (compatible) issues during the upgrade and some experiments wanted to share with you guys.
PS Vita model: PS Vita OLED (PCH1001) with 4GB offical memory card
CFW: 3.60 Enso
SD Cards: SanDisk Ultra 32GB and 128GB
Hacking Guide:
YAMT (SD2Vita) https://vita.hacks.guide/yamt.html
StorageMgr https://vita.hacks.guide/storagemgr.html
Storage Format (Windows) https://vita.hacks.guide/storage-format-(windows).html
PC Operating Systems: Windows 7 and Windows 10
Other tools: SD2Vita Adapter; VitaDeploy v1.2.1; YAMT 4.0;
[Case 1]
I. Formatting the 128GB microSD in PS Vita via VitaDeploy application; formatting successed.
II. Ejecting 128GB microSD and inserting in PC
1. Windows 7, won’t detect it, asking for formatting.
2. Windows 10, detect it successfully.
III. Ejecting 32GB microSD (StorageMgr) and inserting in PC
1. Windows 7, detect it successfully
2. Windows 10, detect it successfully
IV. Backup
Have all files showed with options view/options/view/
“uncheck hide protected operating systems”
1. Backup, I can select all the files from 32GB microSD and transfer to PC
2. Backup restore to 128GB microSD, only can be done in Windows 10 because Windows 7 won’t detect this SD card.
V. Inserting 128GB microSD to PS Vita, finish YAMT setting,
Open VitaShell, uma0: partition is detected.
[Case 2]
I. Formatting the 128GB microSD in PC via Storage Format (Windows) guide; formatting successed.
II. Ejecting 128GB microSD and inserting in PS Vita
YAMT Driver/System won’t detect it (no uma0: partition), need VitaDeploy formatting again.
[Case 3]
I. Switch 32GB microSD (StorageMgr) to YAMT first
Installing and setting everything only on PS Vita (without PC), successfully.
II. Ejecting 32GB microSD and inserting in PC
1. Windows 7, won’t detect it, asking for formatting.
2. Windows 10, detect it successfully.
[Question]
It seems like Windows formatting has some compatible issues with VitaDeploy formating. What are differences between Deploy format and Windows format?
Any thoughts would be appreciated!
