Yup game reads it.

But when I go to the song list, it doesn't show. Even if I search it.

Song list says only 65 songs (which is the number of songs that come with the originals disc).

Hot take: is there a way to convert my downloaded DLC songs into fake pkg?

Then I could also attempt to convert my retail disc to fake pkg, will that make the two communicate correctly?

yes, dlc will be in mnt/sandbox/pfsmnt. mount the game by opening it, minimize it with the ps button, then it should be dumpable. I don't have a tutorial on dlc @KiiWii does, but it's the same as themes, which is also counted as dlc, except the param.sfo is different.

I'll look for it and give it a go.

Rock Band DLC needs the decrypted songs folder in addition to sce_sys to work.
I have no idea how to decrypt it without having a properly activated PSN account, but you can build custom DLC using LibForge

hi @godreborn, just want to ask something about manually making dlc unlocker. cuz im confused
basically, we dont need any files from sony servers?
cuz the files that we're making are our own:
- param.sfo generated by orbis-pub-sfo
- icon0.png - can put a customized one
- license.dat, license.info, and psreserve.dat are automatically created using orbis-pub-gen
is my understanding right?

and also, is there a way to delete these unlockers?
cuz it seems even i deleted the base game and reinstalled the base game again, dlcs are automatically unlocked in the game (i didnt reinstall the unlocker/no items on the add-on)

yes about the files. I'm not sure about the unlocker still working after deleting the game. you could probably undo it by reinstalling the dlc (the one that's not the unlocker).

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
