It looks like there's a new Dashboard around as of today, 16203.

We're currently uncertain of the effects on current hacks (xkey and flashed firmwares), so it's better to stay away from it for now.

Yeah said screw it, and updated. X360Dock works fine, but still if you care about Xbox Live don't update just in case. (I have about 3-4 360s to waste.)

Nada. I don't use the olden days of flashed 360s. But I'm sure they work from the C4EVA website.

We shall see. Going online with a flashed console can result in you getting flagged and banned server side. Then you're permabanned

Still, I want to refrain people from updating cause MS won't bump their kernel up by 1 (16202 to 16203) after 4 months without a valid reason.
There must be something behind it...

Maybe they're holding off on banning until people think it's all clear so they can catch more? Isn't that how they used to do it? Hold off on a while then do a huge wave of bans?

The last banwave appeared in late 2009.
That was a firmware related ban.

Another "banwave" appeared with Kernel 13604.
This was called the silent DAE update cause MS injected the dae.bin (AP2.5 response table) into EVERY 360 connected to XBL.

Keep in mind, at least there was one set of DVD drives that couldn't even understand the AP2.5 (much less 3.0) challenge data anyway. For those equipped with those drives, that would have to be ignored. But if there ever ends up being a problem, it does seem Microsoft is upgrading those that still had those systems break down on them, if I remember correctly. No doubt to the harder-to-hack slims.

Sammies and all Hitachi Phats except for 78/79.

Those can't read AP2.5 data so those are the only drives that ignore it.
Those drives have no need for LT 3.0 and are still at 2.0/2.1

However, most Sammies where in old Xenons which are pretty much dead.
Hitachi's are in Xenons/Zephyrs and are also a rarity these days.


I don't know how MS handles those old DVD drives when it comes to RROD repair on those old things tbh..

c4eva seems to have gathered it is a minor update, and thus all fine there. Either way, did my ritual of flash to stock before updating the dash. I've also yet to put a copied game in my 360 post-update, on the off chance.

That's pretty obvious.
Ever since the first DVD drive hack, people have warned noobs NOT TO PLAY pre-release/leaked games.
Getting banned by the fact that you played it pre-release is your own damn fault.

Personally, I think this is common knowledge that one shouldn't do it.
But still noobs manage to somehow miss it and get banned.

My only words for them is: I beg you don't cry ;o;
You know you're already playing a cat and mouse game by flashing your DVD drive.
