I don't understand, what we have here is a game that uses a bunch of videos recorded by paid actors to promote a game that the whole purpose is to showcase all the possible uses of the nintendo switch, much like 2 other games that was made before. (Nintendo land and wii sports) While wii sports was included with the console it was played a lot more than nintendo land and 1-2-switch.
Sure it cost money to make, i hope it was worth it for nintendo that they did. I get that you want people to see how much the system can do with the gyro sensor, HD rumble vibration feedback, inferred sensors, dual joy con controllers, motion controls, bluetooth, "On rails" wireless charging, NFC for amiibo and probably more stuff i dunno about yet (Most of the reason why the controllers are expensive) But did you have to cost $60 if you want us to experience it at launch?
The same is said for nintendo land, although this one was not mostly video recordings and voice overs, it did much of the same, showcase all the features the system can do with the gamepad, onscreen off screen multiplayer stuff. Somehow wii sports had only 5 games to choose from, was free and able to sell more than wii u did. Not sure if that game alone was the reason for the sales, it could been many other games or just the different control features.
But just like wii u had nintendo land to show us what kind of stuff can be done, the games they made for it hardly ever used any of these "exciting new features" if the same thing happen for switch, i dunno what to say. Me personally i just need a pair of sticks and buttons, basically a controller, and i'll play a game. "Super mario galaxy is a great game, one of the best mario games out there." I never played it, can't use standard controller. "Donkey kong country returns is amazing" I know, great game, but wish i can use a regular control.
Is cool the games are great but some decisions make players avoid touching them cause of some of the decisions to make. I guess depending on how the game is intended to be played that it was designed around specific control settings but options make things better for everyone. My best bet is that maybe legend of zelda breath of the wild was probably the game that was supposed to sell the switch at launch. Many will disagree cause it exist on wii with no actual difference of owning one over the other. But i mean they been talking about this for way too long so i guess is just a opinion.
