Gaming Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King, worth it?

Hey tempers, anyone a fellow DQ fan like me? If so is this game worth it? Tempted to buy it but idk if it'll be worth it, the last I played was DQ7 before this release. Thanks for info!

dq8 3ds has MORE stuff then PS2 version (extra bosses , more characters, more side quests), it is a good game

it look fines
plays fine
sounds fine (midi music, but if fits)

Depends on if you like the series, is a better game than the last 7 but the 3ds had some very bad localization issues due to various reasons, unless you can get a cfw 3ds to play it on and use the restoration patch, is better experience. If not you probably get a lower experience.

To be honest the restoration patch doesn't alter gameplay but the presentation. If you want more info there is a series of viedos on censored gaming's youtube channel that can explain a bit more of what i mean.

If you don't care about the presentation changes, then is just the same game as ps2 with less appeal. So that is all

I think its a great game, a bit difficult if you rush but very fun none the less! Plus this is coming from someone who never played it on the PS2...

If you happen to get stuck at the first Boss like I did.. You can 1 Just keep killin crap until you level high enough to "OutLevel" the Boss, 2 You could look up a guide and follow that to a T, or 3, Use a NTR Plugin and Cheat! LOL

That # is good to know because i had to download a European Version of said Plugin. Then Rename the folder containing the plg file to the USA Title ID (Which is above) After that Drop the folder into a New folder you are going to create on the root of your SD card, name that folder "plugin", then inside this plugin folder is where you are going to put ALL of your plugins... Just remember a Folder with the USA Title ID (As Long as you're playing in the USA obviously) is required in between the plugin menu and the actual plg file... Took me 3 hours to figure that out on my own lol! At first i was putting the physical plg file directly into the plugin folder. That certainly did NOT work lol!

Now the next thing i need to learn is HOW to CREATE these plugins from scratch... Good thing gbatemp has a guide for that! Later! Hope this helped!
