Best DS cover ever... well My Frogger and then this.

Lies! The best DS Cover ever was Bubble Bobble Revolution. That was some awesome box art. It deserves the best prize evar.

It'd be kewls if Gyakuten Saiban 3 was #1337... but it's going to be like.. one week too late.
I haven't played a mana game since Seiken Densetsu 3...

(actually I played Secret of Mana after that one.. oh well) So I am looking forward to this.

Sounds like one more game to suffer the Mana curse. At some point we're just going to have to accept that there will never be another successful installment like Secret of Mana, or even FF Adventure on the Gameboy. The series died with the SNES and it's corpse is just stinking up other consoles.

Sword of Mana for the GBA was good.. but it was a remake of the original Seiken Densetsu for the GB.. so it doesn't count

I actually liked the PSX one.. (Children of Mana, I think).. it was not as good as the SNES games but it was fun (and one of the most beautiful games I've ever played).

I've played Heroes till the second mission, and it's not bad, takes some time to get used to the controls though. The story is looking good till now, so I'll keep playing it!

Hmmm... There's a Mana game for PSX and I think its name is Legend of Mana.

Now, about Heroes of Mana, seems a good game but there is slowdown... you can see the camera jumping a lot of spaces!

But it is playable, at least...

Do you need to play Children of Mana first to appreciate this title or is it just a new story line/arc?

Looking forward to playing this.

It would actually help more if you played the Secret of Mana series from the SNES (especially 2 and 3 in the Japanese numbering) but it's still not at all necessary. Each one quite clearly stands alone, it's just that the world map and places and peoples are the same world (although no repeat characters thus far).

It gets really confusing when there are a lot of units on the screen.
Hard to grab multiple units you want circling them with the stylus.
Sometimes grabs other units away from important duties.
It's also hard to single out one unit you want.

Maybe it'll get easier.

I felt that Sword of Mana on the GBA was fairly good, in fact it was one of my favorite games on the GBA.

In terms of this Heroes of Mana game, for now it is decent. I can't imagine I'll spend too much time into it, it isn't the most compelling, but I can imagine that it'll be a blast to play multiplayer. I hope the WiFi connection means that we can bring this online as well, and it isn't some cheesy pictochat ripoff...
That's because Sword of Mana was a remake of Final Fantasy Adventure with revised graphics, similar to FF3 on the DS. It was not a _new_ Mana game, and that's why it didn't entirely suck.

The guy responsible for this franchise seems to be delusional if he thinks there is anything worthy to the overall Mana story that warrants all these offshoots. It's just not that special.
