After having a round with the japanese game, I would say this game is still worth a look. The minigames were very fun still!

Of course the true value of this is a game with friends so if you got 3 buds with DSes to boot, all the more power to you!

No WiFi kinda kills it though

It has Wi-Fi multiplayer.

Unless you're being a bit thick and thinking that Wi-Fi means "internet" or the "Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service.

Freezes when selecting Multiplayer mode on my DS-X with fw 1.0.2

Or is it because I made the arm7 fix (and it maybe doesn't even need it)?

Let me translate. He said that playing on wi-fi is the same as playing against the computer. Actually worse because people can cheat over wi-fi.

Freezes for me on my M3DS Real at the following point in story mode:
Just when the "boss battle" with Dry Bones begins (3rd level)

Any others have a similar issue?

It's freezing for me on M3 CF when I do mic test and go into the mini-games in story mode.
Both screens go black and it just hangs.
I used the settings listed on M3Wiki.com, but they're for the SD version.
Anyone know how to get it to work without freezing?

Yes finally, been waiting for a long time. And no Wi-Fi (over intarweb) isn't such a big loss you know. Some Mario party games take up to like 2 hours to play and if the stranger you play starts to lose no doubt he will just quit and totally ruin the game experience, as long as this has local and download play its fine. I think doing no Wi-Fi (over intarweb) was a good move by Nintendo and well thought out.

I hate this game!! It's all luck and useless minigames. The minigames themselves are quite fun. but their often is no goal. Because with minigames you only get coins and after 3 or 4 rounds you usually have over 50 coins. And with coins you can buy a star allright, but my opponents are always luckier than me for being closer to a star.

So after 6 minigames I had over a hundred coins. But what good does it do if I'm always far away from a star or just 1 step ahead of that star???? In the last case you have to cross the whole board again to reach it again (the rounds go clock-wise), so you opponent is snatching away the star and I get to dig through the minigames for more useless coins!!!

Really this game is a waste of time and I'm astounded that there have been already 10 Mario Party games prior to this monster!

I hear you say "But this is a game made for playing with friends", but then they just had to leave out the Story Mode out or make it much better because "lonely players" are feeling even more lonesome after playing this game.

So that's my little review about this game.

I guess I have good luck then cause I finished the first level with 3 stars and 150+ coins, the second with 4 stars and 50 or so, and the third with 3 stars and *BORK* GAME FROZE!!!!

I really like it, personally. Download Play is very robust too. Unlike Mario Kart for example where you only be Shyguys and have limited tracks, theres a good number of options for those without a cart in Mario Party.

Does anyone know whether this game works with "regular" wireless multiplayer as well? Me and my friends all have supercard lites (which do not support download play), so I'm kinda curious about that.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.
