I'm not sure how nice the AP is - but I've found with Shinobi Rumble that the Japanese .sdat file can be substituted for the current one. At the moment the game feels like a giant mound of shovelware - if you've got a flashcart you'll probably enjoy the game twice as much by replacing the sound file with the Japanese one.

For some reason after Atlus began releasing the Naruto games here, they decided to remove all evidence of there being a voice track. As a result the game really, really sucks without it :{

the file i have says (Iron Chefz) i had the cart and the rom by wed night so did lamefuck dump it? no:)
It's a pity really that Iron Chefz isn't considered a scene release, maybe if *they* made a nfo, it would be considered a scene release?

(thus making these two latest "scene" releases by the **** a nuke

Well, I tried it, and it's actually not bad. So far, it's kinda like a poor man's Castlevania. The main thing is, they got the controls right this time around. Not a huge fan of having to tap the touch screen to use my jutsus, as they could have mapped that to a shoulder button. Other than that, I'm diggin' it. I'll probably play through this sucker.

Not necessarily.
They would have to pack the release properly and follow the below rules.

1.1)ÂÂReleases must be packed in RAR. SFV and NFO must be included.
1.2)ÂÂRars must be split to volumes of 5 MB (5,000,000 bytes)
1.3)ÂÂRars must be compressed with M1 (fastest) or better.
1.4)ÂÂFor the sake of better current and future flashcart compatibility and to
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ keep ROM data consistent, full untouched, unmodified, unaltered dumps
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ are prefered. However, if an altered/introed/cracked ROM is released on
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ the scene before an untouched ROM then it will be allowed.
1.5)ÂÂCracks to make games work on specific hardware are allowed but should
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ only be released as a PATCH and should not include the original ROM
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ game data. Flashcarts used to test a crack or patch must be listed in
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ the NFO, this includes the name of the flashcart, firmware name and the
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ firmware version number.
1.6)ÂÂAny redump of the altered ROM should be tagged as CLEAN or REDUMP and
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ not as a PROPER nor should any crack be tagged as a PROPER of a valid
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ clean release.
1.7)ÂÂThe ROM image of the NDS game must be .nds
1.8)ÂÂDirectory names must include: Game name, region, system name, group name
1.9)ÂÂIf a game does not include the English language, this must be specified
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ in the dir name unless the region tag implies that region's native
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ language is the only language in the game eg. game tagged JPN is Japanese
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ only, hence does not need to state the language.
1.10) If a game is rereleased with additional foreign languages, the directory
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ name can be tagged MULTI, however the NFO must specify which additional
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ languages are included.
1.11) Acceptable characters for a dirname are:
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz0123456789.-_
1.12) Recommended directory format:
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ Game_Name___NDS-GRPNAME
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ Game.Name...NDS-GRPNAME
1.13) DSi and DSi related releases will be regarded as NDS releases and will
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ adhere to this ruleset. DSi related releases must have the tag DSi
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ in the directory name. Recommended directory format is:
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ Game_Name___DSi_NDS-GRPNAME
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ Game.Name...DSi.NDS-GRPNAME
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ Game_Name___DSiWARE_NDS-GRPNAME
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ Game.Name...DSiWARE.NDS-GRPNAME

The game doesn't look much different when compared to the Ninja Council games. I won't be downloading this.

So wait, it's actually like, exploratory and not mission/instance-based?
More or less.

It's more just like, playing through each level like a typical sidescroller, except there are sidequests (sidequests are collectathons only used to unlock characters and new levels)

And I really like the presentation in comparison to the last...what is it, 3 Ninja Councils. It returns to more of a look that resembles the first one had but it throws in the three-man squad mechanic of the second game

once again, highly reccomend adding the Japanese game's .sdat back in

__________

On a tangent: I actually bought this game :wtf:
(Any game I translate; when the US version comes out I'll purchase it on release day. Did that with both this game and Shinobi Rumble....and both this and Shinobi Rumble are pretty dissapointing without voice acting. :/

I miss when I used to like Naruto/mainstream anime, however the only Naruto games I can still stand are the first 3 Ultimate Ninja games, though I may give this one a try.
