As we continue to improve on the software and fix the bugs that other people have notified us of, we are releasing the new BETA release of DS App Studio version: 0.1.

Here are some screenshots of the soon to be release BETA:

Here are the new additions, changes, bug fixes, and other things that are within this BETA release.

Additions

  • Ability to add fonts
  • Ability to change the style of the IDE
  • Added a welcome screen(comes with tutorials and examples)
  • Made a new help file

Removed
  • A button to save the NDS in a different directory

Changes
  • The interface is changeable(meaning you can hide some of the windows)
  • The start2D and start3D functions have two more arguments, which are for
changing display modes for the top and bottom screen of the game or application
  • Now, instead of viewing a large confusing output from the compilation console,
only the errors and warnings are displayed in the compilation console, and if
you want to view the log, you can go to Project | Log.
Bug Fixes
  • People do not get errors anymore when they compile their projects.
  • Fixed the bug when you didn't select a template when you wanted to
    delete one.
There are many other things that have been done to the new release, but I wanted to keep this short.

System Requirements - Minimal
  • Windows 98 or higher
  • Microsoft.NET 2.0
  • devkitProUpdater(included with DS App Studio and automatically installs).

    Current known problems

    • Some known problems that we are still are trying to fix are:
    • NO$GBA sometimes isn't found
    • When saving files, sometimes files you opened before can
be replaced by the one you are working on if you use the Save
      button, not the Save as
    • Sometimes, when deleting resources, the code still thinks the
resource exists in the project and will not allow you to import
another resource wit the same name.

You can download the new release beta at http://www.awsomisoft.com/

Thank you for your interest. I am still working on the Linux version(unfortunately it isn't easy to make things compatible for other operating systems).
It will probably be soon though that it will be released.

Damn, this looks really nice. Looks like I'm gonna take a good look at it, since I always wanted to look into nds programming. Thanks

Thank you!

Yes, this software is meant for people who have hard times programming, but want to be able to do it easily having the feeling that they actually programmed their own NDS app.

DSAL is based on devkitPro(which compiles the the file into an NDS).

I realize that it's based on DevKit Pro, I was just wondering if specific functions are being called from separate libraries or is it all direct.

Oh, in that case it is all direct.

EDIT: Also, if people want help on using the software, they can visit my website http://www.awsomisoft.com/ and visit the forums. I am being more active there now, since people are not starting to join my forum. So, if you want to post help, post them at my community website.

Well, I found a bug, I will be fixing it soon, so if people are having a hard time loading 3D models, it is a bug. I will be giving out another installation soon.

EDIT: The new version is now on the site.

Why is nobody interested?(Besides those people waiting for the Linux version, I am on the way of releasing it

There's a difference between "uninterested" and "simply not replying". I'm lurking here, personally.

Usually, when people don't reply that means they aren't interested, but anyways.

I am announcing that a Linux beta will be released maybe today or tomorrow.

These are the current beta testers for Linux version:

We have finally come out with a Linux beta version. Some of the features may not be available, which is why this is for testing.

To download it, click on the download button on the downloads page and when you get the downloaded page, there will be a link in a section called Linux users. Once you have downloaded the .zip file, put all the folder in the C drive(if I am correct, the Linux os also uses the C: drive, but tell me if not I am not a Linux expert).

Note: On that notice, in order for the Linux version to be updated with the Windows version, I will need someone to moderate over the Linux users to make sure no bugs are missed during the process. PM me if you would like to help me in these fields.

Requirements:

Linux user(someone knowledgable of the operating system)

Has some idea of programming.

Someone is available a lot of the time.

Again, PM me if you would like to join.

Also, I would appreciate if people start donating towards the software. The domain is expiring soon, and if we are going to continue to host the website and the software, we need more donations. Thank you for reading this.

You are one fast bastard when it comes to coding, aren't you?

I've been tempted to check out your app, seeing that it doesn't use PALib, for quite some time and the more I see the more I like it.

I'll check it out, mmm-hmm.

I still need someone to help me with this. I can't keep watch over both, especially when I have to get bug reports for both and I am not really familiar with the Linux operating system.
