Missed that one. Loved multiplayer co-op in that one back when.
It seems within reason as far as power, though I would have to look and see what libraries need to be accounted for/replicated/ported out from (it being heavily influenced by microsoft means I would bet on it being tied rather a lot into Windows/directX and such).
Truly leaked code also tends to attract less willing developers or need people to do things anonymously as you don't want to get slapped with a C&D. To that end even compared to things like decompiled it gets harder and you tend to have to wait for that one anonymous dev or team rather than more common open source porting efforts.
