EA announces development of 3 new 'Star Wars' titles from Respawn Entertainment

Following some uncertainties regarding future Star Wars titles being developed by EA, the publisher cleared these doubts today. In a press release, EA announced that not one but 3 titles set in the Star Wars universe are being developed in-house.

The development studio in question is Respawn Entertainment which worked on Apex Legends, Titanfall and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The three titles will be of different genres, namely an action adventure game in the Star Wars Jedi series, a first-person shooter and a strategy game (in collaboration with the newly formed studio Bit Reactor).

EA's announcement notes that work has already begun on all 3 upcoming games and that Respawn is looking for talent to join the teams.

More Star Wars, sigh.

A new Burnout is what they ought to do.

I'll GLADLY take Fallen Order 2, as the first was easily THE best Star Wars game I've ever played. That said, yes, I would love a new Burnout as long as it was like the first few and not like Burnout Paradise. Would also love a new Motorstorm and ModNation Racers. :)

I love how they specify that they'll be handled by Respawn, like they admit "Yeah, we know these are the people that made the game that people liked out of the gate, so they'll handle everything!". Not complaining, Fallen Order was one of the best games in recent years.

Huh, you never played Super Star Wars, Force Unleashed, LEGO Star Wars, or the action-adventure top down view on PS1? Those were great.

I agree we don't need another Burnout Paradise, but that was still a fun game. I'd take a remaster of Takedown/Revenge even though I already get that experience playing the PS2 versions on PS4.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.
