EVO tournament manager contacts FBI after threat of mass shooting

Reknown fighting game tournament EVO has attracted some negative attention, in the form of a Twitch user threatening a mass shooting on the game convention this coming August, with the ominous statement of "mass shooting@ EVO18 see you there". The message, while potentially just a terrible joke, has gotten some people nervous, and the EVO tournament organizer, Joey Cuellar has taken the threat seriously, opting to contact Twitch staff as well as call the FBI to report it. This has also started major discussions in the fighting game community, regarding what they perceive as a lack of security for EVO attendees. What makes matters more uncomfortable, is that the event takes place at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, of which during October 2017 was the scene of a brutal mass shooting.

Some scumbags. Even if they were joking its still not funny and needs to be taken seriously. Glad they alerted twitch and the FBI

Maybe you should pay attention to what actually fucking happens.
I think youre actually right
The goal of this "joke" wasnt to enforce security or to announce their plan
¸the goal was to terorise and makes us scare to go in those place
Thats why we call them terrorist

Why are you guys liking this post? News like this isnt a topic you should like. If this article had been about PREVENTING the irl threat before it could even be attempted would be a post you like.

"Like" doesn't always translate to literally liking this news. It's more appreciative to the poster.

Well, we wanted to keep the right to bear arm/guns, but not the right to make it harder for people to buy guns :/

After this incident it's sort of foolish to think that all shooters want attention. Multiple times people have given a heads up and it turns out to be true.
thats pretty much every single day on 4chan, and multiple times per day where stuff like that is posted
