Homebrew evWii not doing anything?

I've confirmed the plugin is in the correct folder, it shows up in the plugins menu in Aroma, I've got it set to true, but it's not doing anything, and I can't get the gamepad power button to turn off the console -- it still only turns off the gamepad. I've got no idea why it isn't working, since I haven't seen anyone else having issues with it, and I didn't see any dependencies on the github page that I might have forgotten to download. I've tried several different methods of loading vWii, but nothing does anything. Does this only work on injections? Does it not work if Aroma is set to autoboot the Wii U menu? Otherwise, I am completely out of ideas for getting it to work, and I have no clue why I seem to be the only one it doesn't work for when every other plugin is working fine for me.

EDIT: Wait, I may be stupid. The 4 button power press is on the console, isn't it? Yeah. Duh. Okay, never mind then.
