Homebrew Extracting the friendcodeseed_B from a 3DS with no top screen

I have an unhacked 3DS on 4.2 (I think) where the top screen is broken (I can only see what is on the bottom screen), and another hacked 3DS that is banned from eShop and online play.

I wanted to sell the broken 3DS, but maybe I should use it to unban my other 3DS before doing that? How easy would it be?

Use your good 3DS to go into the same menus. Use it as a guide to navigate the broken one.

I'd just launch GodMode9 1.1.3 via the browser exploit. Place GodMode9 in the root of your SD card and go to https://dukesrg.github.io/?GodMode9.dat in the browser. From there, navigate to SYSNAND CTRNAND:/rw/sys and you'll find LocalFriendCodeSeed_B/A. Press Y to copy it, navigate back to somewhere on your SD card, press Y to paste, A to confirm.

If the browser exploit wasn't able to launch ARM9 payloads, it wouldn't be used for launching SafeB9SInstaller in the guide.

In fact, if you can't get GodMode9 to launch via the browser, try to launch SafeB9SInstaller using the guide, install boot9strap, and use Luma to chainload GodMode9. You'd probably need to convert GodMode9 1.1.3's .bin to a .firm for that, though, as the latest version puts all the important stuff on the top screen.
