so for the past few days ive been dealing with a white screen on my ez flash omega (non DE) and just wanted to document my quest to fix it.

just wanted to post here what i tried and what ultimately worked.

i got mine a few months ago from a ebay seller. so i have no idea as to how old it is.

installed mods: a retro six shell and USB C battery cover, Funny playing IPS screen, helder's game tech Flex amp, helder's game tech power cleaner and helder's game tech power switch replacement, CUI 1 watt speaker (part number CMS-23558N-L152) and retrosix USB C Battery pack. the menu im using is simpleLight from this thread (https://gbatemp.net/threads/new-theme-for-ez-flash-omega.520665/)

situation: when i boot the card, it boots fine and the menu navigates fine, when i boot a game via direct boot the screen stays white. so i turned on "use bios intro" and the nintendo logo was scrambled. when i load the game to nor, it writes correctly about 25% of the time.

attempts to fix:
1) backing up the SD card, all roms verified correctly against my last backup so it wasnt corrupted.
2) updating my menu, didnt fix it, but there was a new release of it so thats good.
3) using safe mode and not reading the instructions fully, so i had soft bricked the card, and had to use the HXD method to prepare a recovery card (following this thread: https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-make-your-sd-card-to-ez-flash-omega-de-recovery-able.584611/)
4) at wits end i decided to clean the contacts. they looked clean but maybe, just maybe it will fix it. using a PH1 driver open the case (the face plate SLIDES off, it dosent need to snap off) and using an eraser to wipe the contacts clean (i used a pentel clic eraser pencil) and this works. should have done that first as it was easiest.
in all i spent 2 hours on non working solutions, and the fix that worked took me less then 5 minutes.

tl;dr: try cleaning the contacts of the cart and sd card before anything else, it may just fix your issue.
