Fan-made patch allows Bloodborne to run 60fps on base PS4 models
Someone appears to be messing around with Bloodborne's game files in hopes of getting the game to run at 60fps. Lance McDonald has created a fan-patch that gets From Software's normally 30fps capped Bloodborne to run at a smoother framerate. He was successful, initially just forcing the game to run in fast-forward, but getting the desired 60fps. He later improved upon his work, managing to get a higher framerate, with the caveat of screen-tearing issues, with the game running at proper speed and with the correct frame-timings. Impressively, this works on base PS4 models, though supposedly the results are much more impressive when run on a PlayStation 4 Pro in Boost Mode. Hopefully, we see the release of this fan-creation to the public soon.
Ah, I did it! Bloodborne running with a 60fps frame cap (no v-sync so lots of screen tearing) with proper frame timing and game logic timing. This is running on a base PS4 pro, will try to get an actual FPS counter to display tomorrow and test on PS4 Pro with boost mode. pic.twitter.com/V6uxQ4bT9k
