It's possible yes, but expensive.
If you don't care for XBLive then I'd go for it.
If you do want to play on Live, I highly suggest getting a Phatty 360 or a first model Slim and go for an Xkey or a DVD flash.

I saw this post like 8 or 9 months ago and just seen it's operative again ^~^


Just to know if i can send you my Drive i'll explain a little: I tried a pair of years ago to flash my drive connecting it to the PC and using jungleflash or something with this name but somehow failed and since then i can't use this drive on my Xbox
Somewhere i read that if i lose the keys of my drive i have to pick them up from my Xbox PCB with a flasher (thing that i wasn't going to buy 'cause ia wanted to flash myself ONLY the DVD drive) so i just stopped there and stored my console :/


Sooo... i dunno if you can flash the DVD drive or if it is a better way to flash my console.

If you can illuminate me i'll be glad.

You can't use the DVD drive anymore on the console and you don't have the DVD keys?
If yes then you'd need to get the 360 RGH'd in order to retrieve the keys.

Yup, RGH is the best way to go.
If you really care about XBLive, you could opt for an Xkey.
It'll allow you to play games off off an external and access XBLive as well.

Should mention that flashing your DVD drive does not = free DLC/anything released digitally.

August 2014 mfr suggests Winchester, so no RGH

Well my biggest 360 frustration is currently that Forza 2 only had a "complete" on disc version in the US, so I'd like to play the US version on my EU 360 if possible!

only way is with jtag/rgh. if it's region free or lists your region, it's playable. a lot of games are and a lot of games aren't. there's no way to make it work either, because you will have destroyed the security sectors of the game.

Not sure if DLC is cross region for that game, but if it is, you can extract the DLC disc with Xbox Backup Creator then throw it on a USB/HDD on a non hacked console.

I'm not sure if the DLC disc is region free or not, but I should add DVD hacks are not region hacks, but the DLC on said disc is likely to be region free.
