Trying to add a mod to BOTW through FTPiiU and FileZilla has met with failure for exactly 57 small files. No rhyme or reason to it either. Just those specific files. It also failed to add files to my SD card earlier in the day, but deleting files from SD card remotely worked just fine. 1,212 of the files transferred perfectly. Here is what FileZilla says:

FileZilla's solution is to...I guess write a new FTP app?

I have both too. Everywhere does seem to modify files that are already on the card, but adding files to it fails no matter what, so that makes some sense. My problem was that those 57 files were being transferred to my Wii U formatted external hard drive. I managed to fix it by dragging and dropping from within FileZilla Vs. Windows file explorer.

in my experience with windows explorer ftp, it works better when the partition is mapped as a network drive. it probably requires smb 1.0 for the wii u as it does for both 360 and ps3. it's under windows features in add/remove programs if you don't know. if you have lots of folders and files, windows explorer seems to be unstable unless doing that, at least it has been for me in the past. I mapped some network folders for the ps3, but they have few files in them (i.e. packages, PS2ISO, PS3ISO). you can map network folders with smb 2.0, just not drives, which is kinda similar as I think you can map the drive as a folder as well (don't remember for sure though).

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

that's only if using windows 10. windows 7 uses smb 1.0 by default, but it was disabled in windows 10 due to security problems with it. I don't know about windows 8/8.1.

I don't know what kind of files it is but the transfert will fail if you're about to replace or download symlinks (there's files linked on the Wii-U FS from update to game content and the FTP server does not support symlinks)

Another thing : rights on files are not set using those FTPiiU versions. See https://github.com/Laf111/WiiUFtpServer

EDIT : your issue could also be on the client side because of too long paths. You should try to lower the files'paths in Windows (move the mod folder to the root of the drive for the transfert)

I was trying to install the play as Zelda mod onto BOTW, which was installed on external hard drive. It actually looks like no files transferred (despite the time they took and success status) because thankfully the game doesn't crash nor did it get corrupted, but also nothing has changed. I will use that app you linked, and try shorter file paths and FlashFXP instead of FileZilla

I was asked to leave a casino in Vegas years ago, because somebody asked me for change for $20 and I made change for them. The casino claimed it was against they're rules and I had to leave. I feel Karma got them back cause the casino was torn down couple years ago.
