Hey I have some questions I would like answered about furries please.
1. What exacly is a furry?
2. How does one pick up a Fursona?
3. Is there a good furry image website? (besides Rydian's site)

A furry is a person who "enjoys" Anthropomorphic animals ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthropomorphism )

One picks a fersona off what ever a person wishes it doesn't matter it can be what they are comfy with, whtat they like the most, or something picked at random just to feel the slot.

Furaffinity, deviantart, process-productions, pixiv, fchan, ychan, transfur, edmol-life, sofurry, doc's lab. Warning Fchan, ychan, and process-productions are mostly pornographic material however Fchan allows for safe viewing if one wishes.

1. What exacly is a furry?Depends on who you're asking. In most cases think of the term akin to "trekkie" (as in star trek). You've got people that enjoy the stuff, people that take on fictional aspects for their own enjoyment, people that dress up and go to cons, and then the freaks that take it way too far.

I started a discussion thread on this but it got removed, and then moved to the mag staff forum for the discussion, could somebody move it back to the regular forum to use as a reference? It had a lot of proper discussion on this in it.

Okaybutreally. It's a personal thing. Lots of people I know that are into "furry" things don't even have a "fursona". Just like some people who are into anime will make their own character for roleplays and some won't, just choosing to enjoy the media itself. When somebody develops one it's not uncommon for it to take a while, and it's not rare at all to undergo changes as time goes on.

Furaffinity.net is a gathering site for artists and such, the adult art is hidden unless you're logged in and specifically choose to enable it on your account, so don't worry about that. They host stories and stuff too, but not all the art's any "quality". I don't really go there so I can't say that much about it beyond that. The other sites I frequent have adult art mixed in and publicly viewable so I'm not giving any links or names here.

Let me put it this way, if you want true answers from true furries (a certain high ranking member on this site who I won't name thinks furries are nothing more than "fads", which still hurts like hell to this day), do not post a thread directly asking. Furries and anti-furries will both see it, which is asking for trouble.

I despise furry culture with a passion, but from I've seen, there are a few types of furries:

- Ones who just like the idea of having a fursona, and don't actually act like him/her.
- Ones who roleplay as their character, but don't take it to the extreme.
- Ones who seem mental and act like they're their fursona's animal, talk with animal-related words (Like Xuphor saying "off-paw" instead of "off-hand"), and even dress as them IRL.

I don't have a problem with the first two types, but when furries bring their crap into the real world, or start making it their job to let everyone know they're a furry, THEN it becomes an annoying problem.

but really, who cares? the only thing I have any problem with is people putting risque shit in their sigs and avatars. and that's not just a furry thing. this isn't an appropriate place for any kind of risque images; furry, cartoon, human, or otherwise...

It's not something I am or ever will be into but then again, I don't have the time or patience to really be "into" or devoted to anything other than my family or music.

A furry are people who pretend to be a talking,walking type of species without any rebuke from the latter.
They also are kind people and even more nicer than an average person; no really they are!

For instance I'm NOT a furry, I however know someone who is a furry and has various items which doesn't freak me out. Also most furries can DRAW very well, fact.

Considering how much those things cost (I would know... *cough*), I would think having MORE than 1 might be a sign of sheer obsession. Or just having tons of money or something I guess. It's not exactly like it's something you wear every weekend or something and need variety to "spice up your wardrobe" -- though now that I think about it, that's a pretty funny mental image. Throw open the wardrobe to see 10 different bodysuits hanging up, wondering "Hm, what should I wear today?" Mix 'n Match the various appendages.

I might need to go to bed and stop thinking so hard about this >_>
