Fantastic!

Its working here on a 5.3.2U system spoofed to 5.5.0 :)
Did a quick test with Metroid II and its running quite great. :D
No problems at all.
It also generates the .sav file just fine too.

I haven't tried other games yet, since after just reaching the second room I had to leave. :v
But I'll give it a try with a few other GB titles tomorrow. :)

Awesome work!

Now that the kernel exploit for 5.5.0 and 5.5.1 has been leaked, would it be possible to implement other features that were absent due to limitations of the userland exploit?
Like sound, GUI, fullscreen, and other syscalls?

Missing features are not caused by userland xploit, just lack of time. :)

So yes, all of this can (and I hope will) be possible.

So uh, where do we place the GB ROMs on the SD card? ^_^ Want to give this emulator a go, just want to be sure I set this up properly :P

Edit: My bad, found out where XD

So what is working already and what not?
  • does it support GBC games or not?
  • is it in monochrome only?
  • save transfer between PC emulators and Wii U (the in game *.sav file of course)?
:)

I can confirm that the latest version (v02b at the time of this post) works on 5.5.1. I tried Megaman Xtreme, a gameboy color game. It displays the way a normal gameboy game would. There's some screen tearing and slowdown for some sections. (Only played to the first autosave point.)

@K3Nv2 I got some cheapies at wallys, that are pretty good, already have lost a few expensive ones (one falls out and gone, can't find) while cutting grass so bought some cheap ones, and of course never lose these cheap ones. (Cheap meaning only $35, compared to air buds which I only have 1 of 2 now)
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
They need to add air tags to they airbuds..
