Hardware GameCube adapter for Mario kart Wii on Wii U

Hi. I want to know if someone has been able to use a GameCube controller adapter and a GameCube controller with Mario Karyn Wii on the Wii U. I want to know if someone has confirmed this to work. Thanks

Sorry! I'm pretty sure that the Gamecube Adapter works with Smash For Wii U, and another game, but not any of the Wii games through backwards compatibility.

A lot of Wii games support the Gamecube controller if they are racing or fighting games. Almost most Wii U games don't since the Wii U doesn't have Gamecube ports and the Gamecube adapter was a late release.
