You will have a hard time finding a graphics card in a laptop than can do any more than light gaming. The best you can find would probably be a GT540M. More often, you will only find Intel HD 3000 or GT520M, which are at roughly the same strength, only the GT has better compatibility.

That's why I say get a desktop. The best place to get parts is from a wholesaler, but I don't think you'll find any luck there. Second would be local where you can actually talk to the vendor (or sales assistant) into giving you a better price. Just keep in mind the online price, and how much it would cost to ship the parts back to the online retail sites. Store vendors will always try and keep a certain margin of profit, but a silver tongue can usually persuade them that the sale is more important than a little bit of profit. If you have no skill in negotiating, then go online. Newegg has some good combo deals that helps you save some cash.
