Homebrew gateway on a new 2DS

heej people, I'm planning to buy a new 2ds. I was wondering if gateway also works on a new 2ds? I probably have to install the latest system on the 2ds, right? So i will have a sysnand firmware version 10.4 then? I'm not so technical so I might be saying something very stupid, but I was just wondering! and are Gateway and SKY3DS the only gamecards possible on a 3/2ds? I couldn't find any from R4 or DSTWO. But then again, I'm not really that good of a searcher.. If you maybe have anything else important I have to know about this stuff, please tell! I'm kinda new to this, so I don't know a lot about it.

Sky3ds will work. But can only play 3ds rom games.
Gateway 3ds only works if firmware is <=9.2
It's possible to downgrad from 9.3-10.3 to 9.2
with a cfw, you don't need a flashcard, you can install .cia games on the sd card (eshop versions)
on 10.4 you can only downgrade fw via hardmod (soldering 5 wires to a micro sd card adapter to grant nand access via PC and downgrade native_firm, then downgrade like from 10.3)

And I guess Sky3DS+ is the best buy? Is there a site where I can buy it without an SD card, cause I already have a 16GB one. Or is there a better and cheaper card, because it's expensive! haha not for what you get out of it, but my bankaccount isn't a fan of it..
