GameYob, barely. The Nifi connectivity was barely enough to trade Pokemon. Even then, the stats and profile of the Pokemon would get messed up. This was years ago, but connectivity was never on the to-do list during development.

@ihaveamac made a video on a Frankenstein multiplayer creation of Splatood! Both 3DS's had to have CFW though
