Introducing the GBAtemp Minecraft server! Party like it’s 2013, because we’ve decided to have fun by renting a Minecraft server, for GBAtemp users to come mine, craft, and chill out in. Hopefully, the community can have some fun together there!

You’ll need Minecraft, of course, as well as CurseForge, which handles the automatic download of all the needed mods to play. After installing CurseForge, just grab the “TempCraft” pack by searching for it on CurseForge, and you’ll be all set.

This is Java Minecraft, and there are mods! The consensus was to keep things fairly vanilla, but with a bit of spice here and there to keep things interesting. You can expect to see the following mods:
  • Aquaculture
  • Better Caves
  • JEI
  • Chisel and Bits
  • Enhanced Vanilla
  • Genetic Animals
  • Quark
  • Pam’s Harvestcraft 2
  • Gravestone Mod
  • Biomes ‘o Plenty

And other neat tweaks and additions to make the normal Minecraft experience funner! (You can check the full mod list in CurseForge). General forum decency rules apply--don't grief, don't cheat, and try to have a good time!

We look forward to seeing who stops by!

Tbh I also hate starting over and stuff. As long as the server is up I don't plan to wipe. Even if we have to reset maps I have pretty extensive tools to transfer items and even buildings. Though I don't think we'll ever need to, I plan to just add sub-worlds to explore for more loot if it's ever needed, especially if a mod with world generation is added.

I'll definitely distribute the world files when the time comes. I still enjoy going back to some of my old worlds. Hell I have the world I played on for my very first server back when alpha first added server-side saves. We played that damn map all the up until shortly after mobs got released for multiplayer I believe. Been a while.

I think it takes a while to update lol. Been 4 downloads since yesterday, those 4 were me twice, Chary and Scarlet.

It must be 10 years since the last time I played minecraft on a server. Did it change a lot? :D
Curious to find out.

btw i live in Java, island of indonesia. I dont know why there is a name like Java script, java(etc). if someone know the reason behind java name, please tell me.

    Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

    @BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

    You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60
