Had this song in my head but I can't remember the name of it at all or who sings it... so I've been trying to google it with no success. Found a bunch of other songs, but not it...

It goes something like "doo dooo do do dooo doooo doo....." for a while at the beginning, at a slow pace. It's sung by a woman, and I remember it was on the radio a lot in '96. The main song might have "and she was..." in it, but I'm not sure on that part.

It's not "Tom's Diner", which comes up most often in google.... any suggestions?

i think there are sites on the internet that let you "sing" or something like 5-10 seconds of a song and then it will give you suggestions.

Taylor Swift - Lucky You ?
Taylor Swift is a teenager, lol, no way it was sung by her in 1996!

When you say "doo doo dooo dooo doo dooo doo", I think of Otis Redding and Dock of the Bay...

Can you give us any other hints?

@Joe88 : Thanks, but it's a slower pace and more of an accoustic like feel.

@Bortz: Have to try that sometime. My mic is at home right now, I'll have to grab it next weekend:)

Edit: As for any other hints.... hmmmz. I really only remember the beginning part and that possible fragment in the rest of it. Which is what makes it so frustrating.

ya i tried a few popular songs (iron man) and it got them right on. But some not so radio friendly songs gave me some trouble.

"...and instead I pour the milk"

The Suzanne Vega version of Tom's Diner definitely would have been my first guess, but I guess it doesn't really match up to your "doo doo" pattern.

lol. Doo doo pattern.

One thing you could clarify for me: Is the singer actually saying "doo" or is that just your melody? Are you sure the song starts with the "doo" part?

i hate it when this this happens to me. if you ever hear the song again try and use a program called Tunatic to tell you what it is.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
