Hi, guys. So, after putting it off for over a year, I finally got tired of the yellow screen crash with rxtools and decided to upgrade my old 3DS XL. After making a backup, I took everything off of my SD card except the Nintendo 3DS folder(which I now realize was a mistake)
I'd been following this guide https://3ds.guide/ and things were going smoothly, but then after pressing start to save and reboot in Section III - Configuring Luma3DS, I was met with "An exception occurred Processor: ARM11." Since the guide said "If you get an error, just continue to the next page," I didn't worry about it too much just then. After doing the prep work in the Finalizing Setup section, and needing to turn the 3DS back on, I still had the same inescapable ARM11 error. I spent about half an hour looking through different threads, where a lot of them said to hold SELECT while powering on to get to the setup menu, but it didn't do anything for me. Finally, I found out that menuhax was the problem and that I needed to delete the folder with the homemenu's extdata, in USA region's case, 0000008f. There were two of them and I deleted them both.
Now, I can at least boot up normally and the title manager is there, along with homebrew launcher and sysupdater, but before I continue, I'm wondering if I undid something by deleting the homemenu's exdata and if there are any steps I need to repeat?
