Like with any game, if you get it before the official release there's a chance that you'll get banned when using the online services.
I keep seeing people say this, but I've never actually heard of this happening with any game, 3ds or otherwise. Usually, online services aren't even available before a game launches.

Haven't read last 350+ pages... Is the friendcodeseed method thing still the only method to bypass 0102? and, does a system transfer from an unbanned 3ds to a banned one generate a new friendcodeseed on the unbanned one?

That's what was weird for me when I got online, I was expecting an error or something telling me that the servers weren't available, but it didn't, so I just thought it was online for reviewers to test... and then the banwave.

Yeah, in any case you need two 3ds's, and what you are doing is just copying the data from the unbanned one to the banned one, but for me, if I had an unbanned 3ds, I would just move to that one instead.

It wasnt nintendo's doing, but people who played one of the monster hunter games online early got a 7000 year ban from capcom.

For some reason the game says it's corrupt when the save file isn't..ugh so annoying
You have to start the game save-less to initialize save data, once you get to the language menu then it's safe to import the save file though i went all the way and saved in-game just to be safe.

What they might mean for example is this. Take Microsoft. If you for instance get a Call of Duty installment before the release date and play on xbox live. Then that's logged, you may have a chance of being banned for playing it before the official release.

Man, I am getting paranoid about what Nintendo actually get to "see" on my system with all these unconfirmed ban reports floating around. I obviously have CFW and plenty of titles that ought not to be on there for one reason or another. I also happen to spend a lot of money in the eShop in spite of all the magical tools available to CFW users! I'd hate to get a ban on either of my systems which are special edition N3DS XL models. Having resale value (if I wanted) is always nice and I wouldn't really consider selling a banned console that can't do all of the things it's supposed to do.

I haven't been online with either the Lurantis of the freeShop versions of Moon, and when the 23rd hits I'll have my physical carts. Perhaps all is okay.
.cias aren't the problem... https://gbatemp.net/threads/has-any...emon-moon-online.447971/page-406#post-6861673

I did both of these options and it still doesn't work. I checked my main file and it isn't corrupt, opened up in pkhex just fine.

Use JK save manager instead of savedatafiler

The problem with this Gon is that this claim may very well just be a decently observed speculation.
So, me not being banned is an speculation too? Jesus, I've been playing with lurantis cia since it got leaked, got online on november 18 and i'm still playing just fine, no bans for me. So much paranoia here.

I've been using JKS, the only thing is I extracted the save file from the Lurantis cia using the savamanger application ine the hombrew channel. I've been trying to import it into the freeshop version but so far nothing. I've tried that homebrew app again but it gets stuck on a red screen.

you should be safe as long as you didn't go online before the 18th or you go online on a Europe 3ds

Use the cia version. The homebrew launcher may not have the proper permissions to delete the secure value.

I'm not accusing you of anything, bro. I'm just saying without true evidence no one will ever know. There's nothing securing the fact that you aren't banned. As -rumors- have been saying. Nintendo bans in time specific waves. Just because you're not banned at this exact moment doesn't mean you can't be on the list for the next wave.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
BakerMan @ BakerMan: but, since they're only a few years apart, a morrowind + oblivion series would also be cool
