I'm annoying, I know. But I really need to know if installing a cia (from Freeshop probs) is now safe to go online with. I'd rather not have my sister turn my 2DS into a deluxe paperweight. Again, sorry for asking multiple times, but reading the thread doesn't make me confident.

Again, the bans were handed due to people going online before the release date. It's safe now.

Sure, but I want to use the cart again. I don't know if now I'll be banned by default for using it after the ban's lifted. I now know for sure I will banned on another console if I go online with it during this 2 week period.

You tell me that AFTER I make the mistake, good for you. I know about that already, at least the people before subtly said it instead of this statement.
You most likely have to get another copy of sun, wait out the ban, use a different header or use a cia. you burned the suns private header. I would assume every time that header goes online now the console will be banned, I could be wrong but it seems logical to me.

Thanks for this, clears up my worries, but on the different header thing, basically I can't use a different header with the cart, right? There's no way to change it? Thus my only option is to buy the game again.

The fact the O3DS got banned makes me fear that cart is now labeled as a pirated one since it has the same header as the ROM, the cart's the source of the header to begin with.
That header has a red flag, if you use that card with other 3ds it will be banned, now that card acts as a public header because the same header was online at the same time on different consoles

I hope this goes without saying, but please do not sell the flagged cartridge and get some innocent kid's 3DS banned haha.

Of course I won't, I'll keep it. I was duped into buying pirated Gen 3 games, and rather than sell them, I have kept them, I still have them. It will serve as a second playthrough game now, I just need to transfer the save to the next cart.

If you mean using the cart on multiple consoles, just realize that the anti-time travel will hit you every time you do so. Of course, you might not even care about that.

Fancy how you instantly feel the need to defend yourself when I didn't call out anyone specific. Someone was kind enough to drop his lfcs_b into my inbox, so whether you call me being upfront about certain peoples behaviour dick-ish or not doesn't affect me much. Happy Holidays to you as well.

anyone kind enough to drop me a lfcs_b too? I promise to not do anything that will risk getting banned xD

I'm wondering : if I install a version on an EmuNAND, then install the same version on another and use both on the same console, will they have both the same header ?

Do you mean a CIA file? CIAs headers are generated by your console info. Installing the same CIA on multiple different console's, each one will have a unique header, because each console has unique info to generate it.

So let's say I buy a brand new SD and create an EmuNAND on it. It will then have a different header than the NAND I already had, right ? Which means it's safe to use both on the same console ? Just makign sure I get this.

You mean on the same console? It wouldn't matter because you can't run more than 1 NAND on a system at the same time. A header is only flagged as pirated if 2 people connect online AT THE SAME TIME with the same header. Since you can only run one game per console at any given time, that would be IMPOSSIBLE to do with a CIA. CIA files are ALWAYS safe as far as headers are concerned.

Yeah not exactly what I meant, but I see where you're going. Me playing, then switching the SD card and letting my sister play her own game would be the same as switching console and cart entierly ?

That won't work. All game install and save data in stored inside a 32 character folder inside the nintendo 3ds folder on your sd. each 32 character folder is encrypted and tied to a single NAND. if you install the game on your system, then move the sd card to your sisters 3ds, the game wouldnt show up. you would need to install it again on her system. you would then have multiple folders inside the nintendo 3ds folder, one for each system.

No no I got that, I mentioned earlier she would have her own SD basically, with her own NAND set up and game.
