Heavy Rain, Detroit: Become Human, and Beyond: Two Souls are being ported to PC

D2HoH2NUcAArHJH.jpg

Quantic Dream is a developer known for its narrative-driven story games, such as Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and most recently, Detroit: Become Human. These games are also known for being exclusive to the PlayStation platform, which is why it might be a bit of a shock to learn that all three games will be headed to PC. Epic Games has secured the titles as exclusive to their Epic Games Store, following an announcement at GDC 2019 including other upcoming exclusives, such as Remedy's Control, Phoenix Point, and The Outer Worlds. All three games will launch later this year, with specific release dates to be revealed in the future.

David Cage and I have planned the next evolution of Quantic Dream very carefully. The move to PC constitutes our studio’s first effort to develop non PlayStation exclusive games in over 13 years, but also an opportunity to gradually engage the team on multiple projects at the same time. The most important evolution for Quantic Dream, however, is that we are no longer a developer working with a publisher. Starting with the PC versions of Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls and Detroit: Become Human, we will be self-publishing all our titles.

Take it up with the publisher for releasing on epic. They are more then happy to release on epic store front because they benefit money wise. Blame them for greed if that’s how you see it.

It’s the publisher going the anti consumer route for releasing on epic, they’re aware of the complaints of the epic store front. They analyze and pay attention when deciding which store front to release on. If they are going anti consumer then don’t support the publisher.
How is the publisher only to blame when epic gives out a game dev 2 million dollars to be a store exclusive and that game earned 2 million dollars in sales meaning if they refunded everyone they would have still made 2 million dollars. Epic is giving game devs these deals to try and beat steam so Epic games has a lot to do with it 2

It makes it seem epic is pro publisher but anti consumer. So generous to give 2 million. Giving away 2 million is not easy if it was then steam would have done this.

They can choose to take the deal or not. It’s their choice. So they are the primary people in this. Or are they being held at gun point? They can choose to release on steam and make less money but on a service that has better customer service.

So choice is, a service with better customer support but less money. Care about consumer.

Poor customer support but with lots of money. Greed.

Unless you want to call steam anti publisher? And call them greedy and not support them because they give publishers less money.

YESS, this was unexpected but also VERY WELCOME. I love this kind of games, and the PC didn't have them (except for telltale games and life is strange)

God fucking damn it Sony. They better not start porting all their exclusives to PC, otherwise they'll end up dead like Microsoft. No software, no hardware sales.

It doesn't matter anymore if games like bloodborne going to PC now, it is the end of the ps4, it literally does not matter anymore.
They already have people's money.

I think it's hilarious that so many here are boo-ing epic games for convincing developers to come to their platform. It's a waste of breath, guys. It didn't work when bayonetta 2 was a wiiu exclusive, it won't work now.

Also...if it wasn't so much hassle, I'd take names, as I'm fairly sure that some of you grumbling are very eager to pick up the free games they offer. :P

Those games were the reason for me to consider to buy a PS4 when the PS5 gets announced (and maybe price of PS4 will be reduced).

So somehow a good news (since all other stuff on PS, which might be interesting for me, is also available on PC), somehow sad news that's not on Steam .

The heck. Epic store again? It is getting a bit annoying, but whatever. I've been looking forward to these games ever since Heavy Rain was released on the PS3, but I never got it for some reason. And since I never got myself a PS4 I haven't been able to pick up the remaster and newer games either... Finally on PC though, that's neat!
