it's because of the way the loader works.
I'll change that later.

if the loader can't mount the USB, it deactivate the display of games from USB (to prevent trying to display games from missing devices), so Wii games get deactivated.
next time you plug USB, the games are still deactivated, so you don't see them, even if the USB is plugged.
you need to re-enable Wii games from top menu > 4th icon

could you install the forwarder with that wad manager? it should work fine now.

Hey! I don’t know what to do anymore, my usb loader finds the games on my hard drive but as soon as i want to start the game, the start screen doesn’t even come up and is only black, when i press start, the usb loader starts reading the disk instead of the game of the usb. I literally tried everything, my usb is in wbfs, i tried it in fat32 but then the loader couldn’t find the games at all. I tried literally everything, can someone help??? (I added the picture of how the screen looks like)

You also do not likely have the same problem as the poster that created this thread did in 2014. At least read the thread and provide what previous responders asked for if you're going to try to revive it.

Don't know what should be the next step here.
The loader I have install is USBLoaderGX_v3.0_IOS249.wad

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I Deleted the old usb loader, and put the v3.0 Re. 1268 on the HBC.
First time loading the USB Loader got hte menu, everything fine, but the same when I put Start on the game, takes me back to HBC menu.

Start the loader again but this time froze on "Initialize usb device"

My USB is a WD 1T NTFS

again, NOT the same problem.

first, if anyone ever installed the wad file of USBLoaderGX 3.0, or tells "3.0c" in the credit page, then you installed an old version of the loader which is not maintained anymore.
please, follow this step to fix your installation and update the loader :
https://gbatemp.net/posts/6478222

about your problem @HakimTC:
You didn't install any cIOS !
you need to install d2x cIOS v8 final.
There are tutorial everywhere on that forum (that I wrote, rewrote, re-re-re-wrote everytime, like 5 time a days, I'm starting to have numb fingers). Please, find one of my post where I explained how to do it.

@alisaw12:
Your cIOS setup is good. don't touch or edit it.
You didn't tell which version of the loader you are using. If it's not 1268, then follow the link I just posted in this thread to update your loader.

if FAT32 doesn't display games, you probably copied to files to the wrong place, or didn't select the correct partition in the loader's settings.
WBFS shouldn't be needed anymore, and you should stop using it because it corrupts your games.
as proof : black screen instead of loading the animated banner means the game is corrupted!

though, if the game doesn't work, it should reset the console, not launch the inserted disc.
why would you keep a disc inserted? just remove it and it will not launch and properly reset the console if the game doesn't work.

The version of the USB Loader GX should be the newest, 1286.
I never had the disk in to load it, the loader just tried to even though there wasn't a disk in the wii. I am trying it again with FAT32. I previously used the Wii Backup Manager so I did hope everything would be copied in the right place. How exactly do I need to change the settings in the loader if I use FAT32? Does this fix the corrupted game problem?

if you have 1268, that's fine.
if you have "latest", please verify it's really 1268 and not 1180. (you see the version at the bottom left of the screen when the loader is booting, or in the credit page).

you changed your setup from this :
IOS249 [56] (rev 65535, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS250 [57] (rev 65535, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0

to that :
IOS249[56] (rev 21010, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS250 (rev 65535): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0

as you can see, your slot250 is now very strange. it has something which is unknown by syscheck.
it doesn't provide you what version you have (d2x, or another one) nor the base ([56] [57] etc.)
your previous setup was good, if you want to go back we will see later.
For now, you can use your slot 249, it will work with most games.

If you used WiiBackupManager, then your games should be located in the correct folder and with the correct filename.

I don't understand why the disc is trying to launch instead of the game itself :/
What I remember doing that was DIOS MIOS (ancestor of Nintendont), if the setup was wrong then DIOS MIOS launched the disc instead of the ISO. but it shouldn't do it for wii games.

I'm waiting for your new test with FAT32, wiibackupmanager reinstalled games, and try to reset the settings of USBLoaderGX too.
or at least, force a partition reload after plugging the drive : settings > hdd menu > click the first option to force a refresh.

my usb is now formatted in FAT32 but as soon as USB Loader opens i get an error: Usb is not intialized. Switching to channel list mode. But I resetted the loader settings.

go to the settings > loader's settings > loader's IOS : change 249 to 58
reboot

using 58 fix that issue for most users.
only few users still have the detection issue with IOS58, and that's when using flash drives instead of HDD.

you don't have another device to try with?
even a SD to USB adapter, if you really don't have any other USB drives. though, flash is less compatible than hdd, you can still try to mount a SD/MicroSD plugged into a USB adapter plugged into USB Port0. it's just to try and see if there's another problem.

Did you try your device with other homebrew, like WiiXplorer or wiimc ?

right now, I can think of two possibilities :
1. your device is not compatible at all (most probably)
2. your USB ports are dead (rare)

1. your device is not compatible at all (most probably)
2. your USB ports are dead (rare)

no i haven't i will try that as soon as possible, do i run the loader through wiixplorer or the game? i have never heard of wiixplorer before. And i can try to find another device. I can't tell what's wrong because it worked completely fine with my other wii. But I used a different usb so yeah

WiiXplorer is a file explorer for the Wii.
it list files from SD or USB, and you can copy/move/delete/rename files.

don't launch the loader through WiiXplorer, use WiiXplorer to see if your USB is detected in that homebrew or not.
if it's not detected either, then the problem is not USBLoaderGX but your device.
if it's detected in Wiixplorer, then the problem is USBLoaderGX.

it's just used to know where your problem is located, hardware or software.

just to be a full test, Wiixplorer also has the option to use either IOS58 or 249.
you can go to the settings and try to change that option and try again.

But, until you can test another device we don't know if the problem is your device or your USB Ports.

as Cyan said, tried running Wiixplorer with IOS58 and if that still doesn't work, it is not USBLoaderGX's problem. Its either your hdd (physical or formatting problems) or your Wii (USB ports)

PS. you are jumping between this thread and the official USBLoaderGX thread. You think you are get more help that way?
Cyan is the developer of USBLoaderGX and you think you can get better help from some other random users?
You can see the same ppl from both threads and you actually get more ppl to help from the official thread. Jumping between threads will only confuse ppl with different info from different time frame.
Your syscheck report has gone from good (uptoday) to bad, following random user/outdated guides while getting helps from the gurus?

I'm a guru now :shy:

Yeah, I said "your setup is good, don't change it" but as you are probably asking at different places (or trying by yourself), you probably get conflicting reports. That's too bad, it's best to keep only one thread with everyone else knowing what has already been suggested and tested.
that's often a problem with users asking for help here, they think asking on every section of the forum will get faster answers. but it's harder to help this way :(
