Homebrew How do i know if i have a9lh or b9s

so i haven't used my 3ds in a very long while and i was pretty sure i had updated to b9s before my last time using it
but yesterday i saw that there was a new 11.7 update so i went into my luma to update it and i saw a message that says
"this is only for sighax/boot9strap user. do not use this if you have a9lh installed

so i have several questions

how do i know if i have a9lh or b9s?

im supposed to update with luma and then go to system setting and update the 3ds through there right?

Think u need to update boot9strap to 1.3 then update to 9.0

It sure works if you follow the steps correctly. It is literally the bible to hacking your 3DS and very much everyone will recommend it.

Yes, though I would make a NAND backup (and be sure to store it somewhere safe, ideally in multiple locations) which is something you should always do before a system update.

There is no real reason to make a nand backup nothing ever has gone bad doing a system Update

On Luma 8 updating B9S isn't needed, that's for Luma 7.
However, what is needed is the latest release of Luma Updater, as 2.2 hasn't worked for a few months.

yes, but Luma 8/9 use the same versions of B9S (1.2 and 1.3, 1.3 was a minor bugfix update)
if they were on Luma 7 then a B9S update would be needed, but they were on 8.
