Make childish sarcastic posts to people's stupid questions to farm likes from other people who at least partially know about the topic at hand. It is the only efficient way to garner any level, and that goes in hand with actually posting.

While it was completely unintentional, the system was sort of skewed to those who wrote USN or reviews. Aka magstaff reaped all the points. It was supposed to encourage user content. That's changed with the V8 tho

Activity, helpful comments, voting (when the game center is back), and like in any community: being friendly or funny without making yourself overbearing. Posting non eof threads that get lots of attention works too, like discussing topics that people Google and come to temp for answers about.

There is a method where you cannibalise another high level account (see also vampires and power levels there for a similar system), however most are keenly aware of such things and will be suspicious of others turning up with high levels that were not known to them before then.
