I don't think you understand how the industry works lol
Interesting. Let's see:
It may be apples to oranges to you but for people who can only afford one or two consoles a generation they are all in the same basket (Home consoles and handhelds).
Apples and oranges. Some people like
portable consoles, others like
home consoles, even others like
both. Completely different products for completely different audiences.
There are plenty of people who only end up owning one or the other handheld over people that own both you can clearly see that just by asking your friends and family how many own a DS and a PSP.
Except the PS4 isn't a handheld which you seemed to have been implying all along. The upcoming PS4 in no way hampers the PSVita's chances because
it's not in the same sector of the industry.
I never mentioned PSN Plus I was only talking about the Remote Play that they announced at E3 was actually BS. He said the PS4 will "just support it" so that means every game will support Remote Play like a CFW PS3 supports Remote Play which is pretty terrible because if you just have things like lets say R2/3 and L2/3 hotkeyed to the touch panel now imagine that and you will quickly notice how bad it will get.
What good would total support give you if the PSVita
isn't compatible with the PSEye or other necessary accessories for certain games? You wouldn't be able to play them so
why support them, for bragging rights or just to receive complaints that they're not working? Explain.
The games that are playable on the PSVita's control scheme will be playable on it, that's what matters. As for mapping L2/R2/L3/R3 -
left side of the touchpad/right side of the touchpad/left side of the touch screen/right side of the touch screen - done.
If that is too hard for you try playing Bioshock Infinite without using R2/3 and L2/3 and you will slowly be filled with rage. Also, Remote Play is crap if you are not using it with a great connection so playing Locally gives you the best results but if I am sitting within walking distance of my PS3/4 I would rather play it on a big screen TV with a real controller.....
Except you don't always have that option, do you? Sometimes you just want to stay in bed and play your favourite games without going downstairs and Remote Play gives you that option - what's not to like?
How many games actually support Cross-Buy last time I checked you can count them on one hand that aren't Indie games? Out of many ports of games the Vita gets they should all come with Cross Buy since most people shouldn't have to pay 80-90$ for two games if they want it for home and on the go if they are the exact same game.
I haven't seen any Cross-Buy games that cost anywhere near $80, they're practically the same price a normal game would be.
You can easily check the sales of any FPS and tell that the US is the only place that really buys FPS while the rest of the world doesn't care.
Show me. Burden of proof and whatnot.
Just to put one stat out there CoD MW3 (the best selling game in the series) sold close to 9.5 million in the US, 4 million in the UK and only 140,000 in Japan.
So in other words,
the tiny itsy bitsy UK bought
as much as nearly a half of total CoD MW3 US sales?
You're proving yourself wrong here. On the side note, there's also the rest of Europe to consider outside of the UK, y'know.
Compare that to Monster Hunter Freedom 3 on PSP sold 440,000 in the US, 420,000 in the UK, and 4 million in Japan so it is pretty clear Japan loves them other genres over FPS.
Japan does.
Europe not so much. You said
only Americans play FPS games, which
you yourself just disproved.
That also covers the Monster Hunter 4 statement you said Sony if they had any common sense for getting Monster Hunter series = great sales in Japan would have said to themselves maybe we should cut them a couple million to have it on our handheld as well and not let Nintendo walk away with one of our biggest sellers last generation as an exclusive deal.
You've just said that Call of Duty MW3 sold 9.5 million in the U.S.A, 4 million in the UK and 140 thousand in Japan which equals
13.65 million copies in the countries we're talking about while Monster Hunter Freedom 3
(which I think you got wrong since Monster Hunter Portable 3rd was never officially localized, there's only Freedom 1, 2 and Unite but I'll roll with this for the sake of making a point) sold 440 thousand in the US. 420 thousand in the UK and 4 million in Japan, totalling at
4,86 million copies. According to your logic, you're the one who's bad at maths - Sony should be clinging to Call of Duty like clingfoil and totally ignore Monster Hunter.
;O;
