hellos. is there anyone that can link me to a custom asus fireware for me that wont brick my router? i think i messed my one router last nite. I got a RT-N12 wireless-N300 asus router.
You can get the firmware here: https://code.google.com/p/wl500g/

Aye, I'm planning on making it single mac soon enough, I finished all the Mii Plaza content so I'll settle on just the main prime once my girlfriend finishes up the last game too

For RaLink router setting custom PRIME MAC is a good solution!

Long time that I dont post here.
I think I need to add some info. I was getting that "/tmp/nzone.sh: not found". However, I lurked a bit and found the solution!
The StreetPass Router was not DIRECTLY connected to the internet. I use another router.

You just need to configure a DNS server on a StreetPass router, the second router is not neccessary. Though it's not straight-forward if the router is not in the router mode and need some linux experience to configure a DNS for the router manually.

You need to have the same ssid has Mcdonalds. Só you need the.Mac and the ssid from that Mcdonalds

Right, and the SSID I'm using is attwifi, which is the one the McDonald's is using. They also have McDonalds Free WiFi behind a TOS acceptance screen, but my 3DS is picking up StreetPasses at the location without connecting to that. This leads me to assume that it is the attwifi SSID that's the Nintendo Zone. So for my HomePass relay I've got SSID: attwifi and BSSID: MAC address of that gateway at McDonalds. Still no StreetPasses via the home relay.

Selcouth You said earlier that you used the same device for that "global list" that everyone uses, right? I dont understand why is not working. It is supposed to be working.

I'm using a Raspberry Pi with an Asus USB-N53 WiFi adapter. All of the HomePass MAC addresses work and I pick up StreetPass tags from them, so I assume my setup is working. Just trying to clarify if my expectation is correct: If I use the same SSID and BSSID (MAC address) as a local Nintendo Zone, should I be picking up StreetPass tags of actual local visitors to that Nintendo Zone StreetPass relay?

Worth remembering that you can only "relay" the same point once in eight hours, if I am not mistaken, so it could take some time. Is there any possibility that noone went there with their 3ds? Maybe over the weekend it will get some streetpasses.

I try it every night cycling through the local MAC addresses for a few hours. I went to one of the locations this week to verify that there were actually hits there and got some. I suppose I could test it with a buddy.

Selcouth I've been reading about the streetpass relay and looks like there is another thing that it checks: The country code. Im not sure if that's the channel or is any other kind of info, but if its different, it wont work. Im also not sure if you can check that without logging on the router.

Hello guys, its just working in my brother's notebook but he isn't in town now and I'm trying it on mine but when I start the Virtual Router it says that: "Can not manage Virtual Router. The Service is not running", what could it be?

And plus, a friend of mine is trying and:

- He can start the virtual router.
- He can connect in the attwifi network with the 3ds
- He didn't find anybody after start the MacCycle.

What could it be?

I have used this before, with some trouble. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I start my network and connect to it. However on the test, most of the time it does not work without resetting many, many times.
However on the oiff-chance it DOES work, it has no other problems. Does anyone know what is causing this and how to make it work with no trouble?

Respond quickly so that I can do this tonight please.

is the wl500gp-1.9.2.7-rtn-5066.trx the proper update to use for the new firmware file to put on my router and then hit update on my router?

or is it RT-N12-1.9.2.7-rtn-r5066.trx
or RT-N12B1-1.9.2.7-rtn-r5066.trx that i need?
just want to make sure i get this right so nothing bad happens in this process.

For RT-N12 just look at the sticker at tha back of your router, hadrware revision must be displayed here. Wl500g fitmware is only compatible with the basic and B1 hardware, buh NOT C1/D1/HP.
For RT-N53 I believe there is no custom firmware yet, at least no wl500g or dd-wrt which is only compatible with the script for now. But 3.x.x Asus formware may be compatible too, you jest need to check if wget application is in the router, the rest should be enough.

You can add your MACs to nzone.macs file, but it will be updated after all MACs was used. Which custom MACs you wanted to use?

duke_srg Its a nice community but most of them won't be able to change their macs. So its like a custom list with that macs :)
How do I edit the file on ddwrt? I use windows 7 as my OS. Do I use WinScp for that?

Also: Why when I write the quick reply some words are eaten? Its like it cut out a part of the text.

It is easier to make a try with the script and any Boroadcom-based ASUS 3.x.x firmware router, such as your RT-N12 and RT-N53. I just did't test it because for the last almost 10 year's I recommend and personally get only WL500g custom firmware compatible routers and flash it just out of the box. But it stimm might work on 3.x.x and you wont break it.

What's really cool about Pi's tho is you can have multiple SD cards with different OS on each SD card and change from say a gaming machine to a full fledged pc if wanted
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Plus all bios are set up and usually includes at least 128gbs or 64
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah but if your main goal is just to play n64 and GameCube you can save about $50 and have the portability option

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
True, but on 2 monitors at 4k. Its just want you want really, to each they own.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
For a kids aspect Anbernic would be the better option they'd probably melt over the price on a good 4k display

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
For that texasroo guy, I'd recommend the Spell and speak as his first system.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
So they buy a pi5 kit for about $150 and say a 28" 4k display probably looking around $400 total
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They'll be getting in the territory of portable Pcs anyway
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Again you get what you pay for, its like buying a S series for $300 but its only 1440p native, if you want true 4k, gotta get the X model for $500. But yea you right, when moms buying it anyways, you gotta stay cheap.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They could use HD out on their TV no real need for a monitor these days tbh the purists will disagree
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I'm kind of phasing out on the need for wanting all these consoles cool to have but they just become dust build ups
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I here ya there, I have too many myself, and have hard time letting them go, since most of mine I've modded at some point. Anymore I just play Switch on the go, seriesx at home.

I'm designing my own entertainment cabinet for my man cave, to store all my systems, then I'm also designing a power supply/HDMI switcher so I can switch to whichever system I want, and power it also. Already picked up the cabinet board, but tinkering with my drawings before start
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
But yea, I have frogger arcade cabinet that I gutted and put a Pi4 then Pi5 into, but it never gets played much anymore, should sell it. Even when the kids come over, they don't want to play on it, just the xbox. TMNT and Simpson's arcade is still so fun on it, esp w 2 players.
