duke_srg But there's nothing to be disabled, it's just the Wi-Fi and the hosted network. Besides, Windows won't let me disable anything, I press Disable and it just stays enabled.
Also, I think the problem is that the hosted network gets disconnected when switching MAC, and doesn't reconnect. How do I keep it up when the MAC switches?

- run nzone.exe stop
- get nzone vbs
- run nzone.vbs start BASE256
- run schtasks /change /tn nzone /disable
- run netsh wlan show hostednetwork and remember BSSID value
- dont alter, just check ICS for the internet connection it should be already set to share with virtual AP
- wait at least 2 minutes
- run nzone.vbs with no parameters it should change to the next MAC once, post any error occurs
- run netsh wlan show hostednetwork and make sure BSSID value has changed
- check ICS again, should be enabled again

The only difference with nzone.vbs that it is not aware of SSID security settings, the rest is done the same way, but error reporting have more information.

Looks like data was cached n the server.

2All Force cleaned all server cache and updated the automatic routine to be made every 1 hour and more strict, so noone will now hang with 3DS can't connect to nzone.exe more than for 1 hour.

Hello guys and gals,

I'm lost. Till now I got everything working I wanted after an couple of hours (homebrew Wii, RetroPie, etc), but homepass puts an end to my knowledge.

Okay, thing is I used this method to get homepass working. The 3DS is on 9.6.0-24E and I was using Win 7 and a TP-Link WN725N V2. It worked for the first time and I was happy. But today I wanted to continue with homepassing, but I couldn't get it working a second time. I tried to repeat every of the steps in the guide in the right order, but it doesn't work.

Things I noticed:

-MAC changing was still functional.
- the virtual network "ConsoleNintendo3DS" as mentioned in the guide didn't had an internet connection, as it had when it was working.
- I met the same 2-3 Miis every streetpass I got using BASE256. (As it was working, of course. I should have had a 30 minutes break between every 10 streetpasses)

What I already tried:

- Spillpass
- Raspberry Pi with a raspian setup using this guide by semperverus
- trying to get it working on my linux laptop
- the vmware method mentioned in OP's post

Can someone pls help me? Or recommend a more reliable option in order to make homepass working again?


These things I have lying around I could use:
- a Win7 Laptop
- a bodhi linux laptop (very old, like 10 years or so.)
- a raspberry pi which I tried on using spillpass but it also doesn't work (strangly enough windiskimager32 didn't want to copy the image onto my 8gb sd card)
- an unrooted android & a jailbroken iphone 4s


EDIT: I forgot the mention I used my tower Win7 Pc with a wired connection and the usb dongle.

Yesterday i finally set up nzone.exe and Dlink dwl-g2122 wifi adapter and got a working homepass relay.

today, i wanted to homepass again, and it wouldnt connect anymore. Let me explain better:

Disabled internal intel adapter because it cant spoof MAC;
Connect my dlink adapter to home wifi;
From elevated prompt send "nzone.exe start BASE256";
Virtual connection created;
But there isn't IP4 "internet" anymore. ( it gets an APIPA address, the one 169.254.x.x,which means dhcp failed?)

what could it be the problem?

Try
netsh wlan stop hostednetwork
netsh wlan start hostednetwork
Most probably it is stuck, in that case disable and enable ICS on any adapter and start nzone if not already working

i successfully managed to have internet connection on virtual host after a windows restore of a couple of days back.
however, now i cant recieve any data,plus my internet isn't switching on and off every 2-3 mins.

I'm using attwifi as my SSID, no security, channel 11, and the 'main' MAC address from the spreadsheet

so far the only progress is that my 3DS connected to the internet even though it has no internet settings, so I know something worked

but I'm not getting any streetpass tags. any ideas?

(also aforementioned internet connection only happened once. now it's just showing 'Streetpass' in green in the top left)

do not consider my previous post, i managed to connect again to homepass . i dont know how.

however, i downloaed miiplaza paid titles , but they wont show.
mii plaza ask me to update...is that the problem? the games wont show until mii plaza is on the last update?
if so, there's a way to download latest mii plaza update (the april one) without connect to the eshop as im on emunand 9.5?

Nevermind this post, i missed the old update, which i found on the web. now my mii titles are showing correctly. Now i can play mii games with streetpass people! thank you!

I managed to get this running and finally got my first set of streetpass hits after like an hour but then the next time I tried to start up stuff I got this upon opening maccheck.cmd :

Thanks for the reply duke_srg. The connection is wired like this way:

Internet modem >>(wired)>> Main wireless Router >>(wired)>> Homepass router.

The main wireless router is the one that provides WiFi to my house, so I can't mess too much with the setup or my family will be pissed out. This is the configuration of the homepass router, as a bridged AP with no password (I guess):
