dang, that's huge, feel bad for peeps who updated
Shit, this is gonna make nintendo go haywire as soon as they even get a hint of people using homebrew on their switch, expect massive ban waves.
I wonder if the Company-execs actually have discussions about these thingsReggie is gonna be pissed off to high heaven and will have to get more than his body ready to overcome the shock.
cant ban if you stay offlineAaaaand i regret updating my Switch to 3.0.1 . Damn you Splatoon 2 , :]]
and at the same time not , expect high banwaves

For sure, I guess Nintendo will have lengthy meetings with their R&D\Technical departments and people getting fired, as a result.
up to 2.2.0 if i remember correctly. Are there any current Switch games that force an OS update? Just in general?
my eu switch is on 1.0 - if you need something which might be easy to setup etc. pp. pm meEvery firmware besides 3.0.1 (1.0.0, 2.0.0, 2.1.0, 2.2.0, 2.3.0, 3.0.0) can make use of this.
In general: just don't update.
I expect very few people have 1.0.0 any more, which is a shame because it has the most bugs.

I edited it actually. Not so sure anymore that any physical cartridge actually updates 2.0.0+. None should be above 2.2.0, if at all. Thanks for being helpful. I hope everything plays nicely for the hacks. Wonder if we can still pull downloads from Nintendo's servers; that made getting games far too easy for 3DS/WiiU...

No matter what happens next, Nintendo will somehow make Mario Odyssey not work on our systems.Yeah, I was just asking in terms of wondering how likely, say, Mario Odyssey will be to force a firmware upgrade. Not that the clever people of this site won't find ways around that if it does, but I'm thinking more in the line of borrowing a cart from a friend if Hax/CFW aren't kicked off by then.

They'd be foolish if they didn't.
